ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet will meet on Tuesday (today) to deliberate upon a seven-point agenda, including the decision on the extension of stay of Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

Pakistan has been ranked fourth as the refugee host country by the UN Refugee Agency in its latest report released this past week.

The Ministry of States and Frontier Regions will present a summary regarding the Afghan refugees to the cabinet, which will be presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The cabinet, which will be meeting via video link, is expected to ratify decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee and the Cabinet Committee on Energy. It will consider national affairs and the coronavirus situation.

The agenda also includes the issue of extending the implementation of the ‘Mandatory Maintenance Act’ to all employees of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

Moreover, the issue of leasing Qasr Naz Karachi and Chamba House Lahore is on the agenda.

The information technology minister will present policy guidelines to the cabinet on the licensing of satellite services in the country. The abandoned Waqf Property Board chairman will present a briefing on the revised rates of lands in Nankana Sahib.
