Balochistan Bus Transporters Association Central spokesperson  Mahmood Badini said the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2020-21 has completely neglected transport sector in the same way the federal government  disregarded key national and international projects, including N40 highway, in  Balochistan.

“The provincial budget didn’t meet the demand for emergency medical aid centres on Quetta-Taftan route let alone providing relief to the transport sector,” he said, adding the transporters of the province were facing multiple problems not  addressed by the government.

Badini complained of lack of the provincial  government’s willingness to address the issues faced by transporters. The spokesperson affirmed the decision of Balochistan National Party-led government in the province about maintenance of national highways, including the ruling party’s demand for transforming the Bolan-Jacobabad, Jhalawan-Karachi and Rukhshan-Taftan international highways to two lanes.
