Plea filed against closure of Jhelum River Bridge

An area magistrate presided over the petition

Water and Power Development Authority has completed the Rs1.012 billion Dhangali Bridge over the Jhelum River.

JHELUM: An area magistrate has directed the police to submit its report on unlawful obstruction of the Jhelum River Bridge.

The Jhelum Magistrate Sec-30 Muhammad Naeem Ashraf presided over the petition filed by Ikramul Haq Advocate.

The petitioner asserted that the Jhelum Railway Department had shut down Old Railway River Bridge that was used by the motorists as well as people to cross Jhelum River.

He added that rickshaw drivers and motorcyclists used this passage as they were prohibited to bring their vehicles on GT Road.
