ATTOCK: There is an oft repeated metaphor "When it rains it pours " which can be applied to the current situation in the country for as if the battle to ward of the Covid-19 virus and the threat of swarming locusts were not enough the monsoon season knocks at the door that the imminent threat of heavy floods is looming ahead.

The government is preparing to meet this new challenge also and in this context Rescue 1122 conducted second mock flood exercise on Saturday at Shahdi Khal site at Indus River.

Departments including Rescue 1122, health, education, livestock, police, volunteers and scouts participated in the mock drills. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Chaudhry Abdul Majid witnessed the second pre-flood exercise along with District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dr Main Muhammad Ashfaq.
