The bus service was to start in February-March but the project was delayed due to the coronavirus situation.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved the project under which two double-decker buses would be handed over to the Rawalpindi administration before the end of the first quarter of the financial year 2020-21.
The project has been included in the Rawalpindi Annual Development Programme (ADB).
Punjab CM’s Adviser on Horticulture and Tourism Asif Mehmood confirmed the development while talking to The Express Tribune on Saturday. He said that the tenders for the tour buses would be issued after the release of funds expected by the end of July.
Following this, the official added that they would issue the schedule for the bus service as well. He asserted that all preparations were complete and they would start the tour service on a month’s notice period.
