FIA Cybercrime seizes gateway exchange, laptops

Case registered after raid

FAISALABAD: FIA Cybercrime team seized gateway exchange, laptops, SIMs and other items and arrested three suspects during raids in the city.

FIA Cyber Crime wing had received a tip-off that Shafiq Ahmed, a resident of Noorpur Thal and former owner of a franchise of cellular phone company, had illegally set up a gateway exchange in Silanwali Garden Town Mohalla Sargodha which are causing loss of millions of rupees to the public exchequer by converting international calls from abroad to local networks.

Due to this, the FIA team raided the house and arrested the accused Amjad Javed Noori, Shafiq Ahmed and Asif and registered a case after seizing gateway exchange 195 SIMs, four posters, receivers and other equipment from a room of the house.
