Trade: Pakistan seeks Iranian petrol import
Iran’s gasoline export witnessed considerable growth due to rise in production and fall in domestic consumption
TEHRAN:
Pakistan is seeking to import gasoline and diesel fuel from Iran, said National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company Managing Director Alireza Zeighami, Fars news agency reported on Thursday. Pakistan and Iran are now negotiating on the issue and in the near future Tehran will start exporting petrochemical products to Islamabad, Zeighami added. He said Iran’s gasoline export capacity witnessed considerable growth due to rise in production and fall in domestic consumption. The country’s gasoline production capacity rose to 70 million litres per day and consumption decreased to around 54 million litres per day. He said that the oil ministry plans to also export diesel fuel, kerosene, and liquefied petroleum gas.
