FIA officials say the suspect blackmailed women through videos recorded during childbirth

DI KHAN: An employee of a private hospital was arrested on Friday for secretly recording childbirth videos, and using them to blackmail women in Dera Ismail Khan.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing arrested an anesthesia assistant of a private hospital in DI Khan on receiving complaints he made videos of women during delivery and other medical procedures.

FIA Cybercrime Wing Deputy Director Tahir Khan said that the suspect identified as Inamullah was working as an anesthesia assistant at the private clinic, had made around 42 videos of women while they were undergoing childbirth procedures.

“When Inamullah was dismissed from the job following complaints against him, he tried to blackmail the clinic’s owner by threatening to leak the women’s labour videos on social media,” the official said.

The FIA deputy director said that during investigation, they found that the suspect had even leaked some of the videos. FIA officers have seized a memory card and other related material.

He said a case was registered against the suspect and investigation is underway whether other people are involved in the crime. Other staff of the hospital is being questioned, he added.
