Virus coverage: Polio vaccination centres to open
at least 100 EPI centres will be set up to provide people with easily accessible vaccinations.
KARACHI:
In order to rid the city of the polio virus, at least 100 Expanded Programme for Immunisation (EPI) centres will be set up to provide people with easily accessible vaccinations. This was decided by Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Hussain Syed and a delegation of the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Thursday. The delegation consisted of doctors from Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt. The commissioner said that the Karachi Municipal Corporation will cooperate with WHO team by all means with an aim to stamp out polio.
