Malala Yousafzai celebrates completion of Oxford degree

The young activist now holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics

Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai recently graduated from Britain’s prestigious Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). She took to Twitter to share her excitement at achieving this big milestone in her life, posting a happy picture of herself with her family, cutting a cake.

“It’s hard to express my joy and gratitude right now as I completed my Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree at Oxford,” she wrote as the caption for the image.
Yousafzai also took the liberty to share that now that she has graduated, she will be taking some downtime – something much-needed for a young girl who became of the face of Taliban brutality when she was shot in the head for going to school in the valley of Swat.

Growing into a strong, young woman who serves as the voice of underprivileged girls all over the world while getting a degree at Oxford has got to be hard work! “I don’t know what’s ahead. For now, it will be Netflix, reading and sleep,” she shared.

The young activist first shared the news of her graduation on June 8, when she participated in the YouTube special #DearClassof2020. Yousafzai had shared then that she still had “four more exams to go.”The YouTube post read, “Congratulations on your graduation, Malala! We’re honoured to share your words and celebrate you as a member of the unstoppable Class of 2020.”
