Afaq ahmed case: Trial to be shifted from SHC

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) transferred Mohajir Qaumi Movement leader Afaq Ahmed’s case to another court. On Thursday, Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and his bench transferred the case to the additional sessions judge Chaudhry Waseem Iqbal. Ahmed is accused of ordering the deaths of Muttahida Qaumi Movement activist Atiqur Rehman and his brother Shahzad back in 2009. Ahmad has submitted a petition at the SHC to nullify the case. Asim, the other man implicated in the case, has shown confidence in the additional sessions court and has boycotted South Judge V. The judge submitted a reference in the SHC with the help of a member of the inspection team to transfer the trial.
