Emergency services: Rescue 1122 helped 35,000 in July

Rescuers have average emergency response time of under 7 minutes.

Nearly 35,000 people were provided assistance by the Rescue 1122 emergency services in Punjab in July. According to the monthly performance review of the Rescue 1122 Punjab which was released on Thursday.


According to the review, over 34,171 victims of emergencies were rescued during 33,588 rescue operations in month of July in 36 cities of Punjab. It said that the average response time in case of an emergency was less than seven minutes. A total of 6,327 rescue operations were carried out in Lahore, 2730 in Faisalabad, 1076 in Rawalpindi, 1414 in Bahawalpur, 2597 in Multan, 1162 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 848 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1038 in Sahiwal, 1064 in Sialkot, 2013 in Gujranwala, 654 in Murree, 1228 in Sargodha, 913 in Jhang, 431 in Toba Tek Singh, 617 in Muzafargarh, 526 in Rajanpur, 340 in Mianwali, 708 in Pakpattan, 668 in Kasur, 512 in Gujrat, 536 in Bahawalnagar, 272 in Jehlum, 490 in Attock, 573 in Khanewal, 448 in Vehari, 266 in Chakwal, 624 in Okara, 331 in Hafizabad, 562 in Sheikhupura, 605 in Lodhran, 318 in Nankana Sahib, 349 in Khushab, 240 in Mandi Bahauddin, 343 in Narowal, 335 in Layyah and 400 in Bhakkar. The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded include 12,490 road accidents, 18,320 medical emergencies, 557 fire incidents, 129 building collapse incidents, 1769 crimes, 180 drowning incidents, 130 special rescue operations and 13 explosions.
