SOPs implementation drive intensified in K-P

At least 487 inspections were carried out against fuel stations across the province on Wednesday

PESHAWAR: In an effort to contain the spread of Covid-19 cases which has been on the rise in the province, the provincial government has directed the district administrations to take strict measures for implementation of the virus SOPs.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz had directed the deputy commissioners across the province to ensure that the guidelines for curbing the virus are strictly followed.

The chief secretary office said in a statement that the reports received from all the districts showed that at least 487 inspections were carried out against fuel stations across the province on Wednesday.

At least 136 fuel stations were issued warnings for violation of SOPs while a fine of Rs190, 000 was imposed on 45 fuel stations.

The report read that the district administrations conducted raids and inspected 7, 516 shops out of which 1, 774 shops were issued warnings over violation of SOPs. Similarly, 509 shopkeepers were fined Rs367, 912. At least 153 shops were sealed.
