End of an era: Celebrities pay homage to Tariq Aziz

Industry insiders such as Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar, Zara Noor among others remember the late legendary TV personality

Legendary TV host Tariq Aziz has passed away on Wednesday, aged 84. Aziz was also an actor and politician. His quiz show Neelam Ghar, first aired in 1974, it was later renamed the Tariq Aziz Show and then became known as Bazm-e-Tariq Aziz.

Soon after the news of his death broke out, industry insiders and fans took to social media and shared their condolences.

Celebrities such as Mawra Hocane, Vasay Chaudhry, Ushna Shah, Yasir Hussain among others paid homage to the late legendary TV personality.

The name. The show. No one can ever measure up to the grandeur of Neelam Ghar. Thank you for contributing so much to the Pakistani entertainment industry. May your soul rest in peace. Ameen!

Tariq Aziz's life and career:

Aziz had also been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan between 1997 and 1999.

He received his early education in Jalandhar before starting his career at Radio Pakistan, Lahore. When Pakistan started its initial television broadcast in November 1964, Aziz became the first male PTV broadcaster.

He starred in film Insaniyat (1967) with renowned actors Waheed Murad and Zeba and also played the leading role in film Haar Gaya Insaan.

Aziz has appeared on several local television programs and morning shows. He has also organised telethons for charity purposes.
