FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) President Quratul Ain has criticised the federal budget, claiming that it is destined to fail as the 52% population of women has been ignored in it.

She said women comprised over half of the country’s population and were playing a productive role in various sectors of the economy but the government appeared ignorant of this.

The business leader said the budget was the worst example of isolating women from the decision making at the highest level. Without mainstreaming of women entrepreneurs, the GDP growth target of 2.1% for the year 2020-21 could not be achieved, she asserted.
