Entertainment Desk June 15, 2020

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, at his residence in Mumbai. The 34-year-old enjoyed 7 years in Bollywood, having debuted in 2013's Kai Po Che, which garnered much critical acclaim.

Known for his acting chops and successful transition from TV to the big screen - he started his career with hit TV serial Pavitra Rishta - Sushant ruled many hearts with his performances in films like Kedarnath, Chhichhore, and PK.

Here is a list of five of his best performances, as compiled from The Indian Express, that you can stream online on OTT platforms like Netflix, Hotstar, Amazon Prime etc.

Kai Po Che!

Serving as a launch pad for both Sushant and another ace actor, Rajkummar Rao, this 2013 Abhishek Kapoor film was a critical success and remains as one of his best performances. It follows three friends as they navigate their dreams and is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life.

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story

Arguably his most celebrated role in his seven-year-long career, playing the stellar cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni who captained India to a World Cup win was the perfect feather in Sushant's cap. This is Dhoni's life story and is moving to say the least.

Sonchiriya

Set in the Chambal valley, the film follows the story of a legion of dreaded, warring dacoits who once terrorised the Indian heartlands. Thus, we see Sushant Singh Rajput turn into a dacoit and essay a character that garnered him immense appreciation even beside seasoned co-stars like Manoj Bajpayee and Ranvir Shorey.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!

Although a lesser known film, but it is one that has cemented itself as a cult favourite for cinema-lovers. Sushant plays the titular character and under Dibakar Banerjee's direction, shines like a star in his role. In this film, a detective uncovers a larger conspiracy to unsettle Calcutta while investigating the disappearance of a chemist.

Chhichhore

The Nitesh Tiwari directorial follows a group of friends from university as they progress into middle-age life and go their own separate ways. In this nostalgic flick, Sushant stood apart as a class act portraying both a college student and a middle-aged man.

Kedarnath

Starring alongside Sara Ali Khan as her first co-star, Sushant plays a simple lover, charming enough to make you want to watch him more than once. The film is centred in Kedarnath around the holy site of Kedarnath temple, where a Hindu girl (Sara) and a Muslim boy (Sushant) fall in love.
