Special branch office declared virus-free

The official further says to maintain the‘virus-free’ status, SOPs have been issued to all staffers

RAWALPINDI: The office of Rawalpindi police’s special branch has been declared as a ‘coronavirus-free’ zone after all of its employees tested negative, The Express Tribune has learnt.

After an official of the branch had tested positive for the contagion during Eidul Fitr, Special Branch SSP Khurram Shehzad had directed to test all staffers.

The swab samples of all employees, including personnel and office staff, were collected by the health department.

Therefore, after fresh reports, the special branch office located in Rawalpindi Civil Lines has been declared as Covid-19-free after the over 200 employees’ there tested negative.

A special branch senior officer, who requested anonymity as he was not authorised to speak to the media, told The Express Tribune that the test reports compiled by the health department have declared all staffers free from the virus.

Regarding the infected official, he said after being tested positive, he self-isolated.

The official further said that to maintain the ‘’virus-free’ status, SOPs have been issued to all staffers.
