LAHORE: Police are still clueless about the whereabouts of a Filipino maid who went missing on June 7.

The 36-year-old Lele Beth Charles has been working as a housemaid-cum-nanny for the two kids of Junaid Mehmood Ansari, a resident of Sarwar Road Lahore Cantt, for the last two years.

The employer Ansari stated that Charles was dropped off by his driver on June 7 at Walton, where she went to collect her stuff.

He maintained that his maid was supposed to return with his driver, who had taken him there.

“Charles strangely asked the driver to go back home with an assurance that she will call him in an hour to pick her up,” said Ansari.

“That call never came,” he added. Later, he said that they tried calling her multiple times but she did not respond to any of their calls. Ansari continued that Charles was like a second mother to his children and everyone has been really worried about her.

After waiting for a day, he reported the matter to the police, where he filed a missing report, while on June 10 he got a case registered under section 365B, suspecting her being kidnapped and raped.

Ansari highlighted that he has been in touch with the embassy as well. Investigation Officer Wajid Goraya claimed that Charles had a visa issue which is why she might have been hiding.
