KARACHI: A meeting called on Tuesday, on the directives of Karachi AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon, to discuss the prevalence of the coronavirus among police personal, decided that cops infected with the virus would be sent on a leave spanning 14 days. The meeting also agreed that focal persons from the department would work in collaboration with relevant district administrations to ensure that all policemen suspected of having contracted the virus were properly screened. The focal will present a daily report on infected personnel to higher officials, so as to keep them updated on the situation and the list of infected officials would, too, be updated every day.
Besides, focal persons have also been tasked with identifying hospitals and dispensaries for setting up help desks at those facilities for regular medical examination of infected and suspected cases among police.
Heading the meeting, Police Security and Emergency Services Division DIG Maqsood Ahmed said that the measures would help curb the spread of the virus among policemen, adding that all needed treatment would be provided to infected personnel.
"No stone will be left unturned to ensure their wellbeing," he assured.
