Saba Qamar talks 'Ertugrul', Colonel Ki Biwi, Meera Jee and more in new video

Here's a lowdown on Saba Qamar's latest laugh-fest!

Saba Qamar released the third episode of her YouTube show titled Chaska News this Sunday. While the episode was taken down due to copyright issues, it is back up and Saba is on her prime time TV best!

The social commentary style show features Saba as a news anchor reporting on trending news over the past few months including the colonel’s wife’s viral video, celebrity marriages during the pandemic, Ertugrul etc .

Mind you, the video features a crackling disclaimer right at the start for any haters waiting to watch and nitpick.

Saba then starts to list down the top five trending 'dramas' like a news bulletin. Here's a lowdown!

5) Umar Akmal's viral tweet



Coming in on the fifth spot on her list was the viral meme based off of cricketer Umar Akmal's tweet that said, "Mother from another brother."

4) Meera Jee's bizarre appeal

She then took a dig at Meera Jee, placing her bizarre appeal to be brought back home at fourth. Meera had claimed that she was stuck in New York, the epicentre of the virus at the time. Later, however, it was revealed that she was in fact with her in-laws.

"The shooting for this drama took place at her in-laws house in New York, which, to increase the production value of the drama, was claimed to be a hotel room," said Saba.

3) Pandemic weddings

"At number three remain weddings in corona," she went on.

"Ahad and Sajal's wedding, Shahroz and Sadaf's wedding, Faryal and Daniyal's wedding, Aagha and Hina's wedding... best friend's wedding, cousins' wedding, ammi aur abbu ki dusri shadi (mom and dad's second marriage!)" she joked, adding a picture of Manzar Sehbai and Samina Ahmed at the end for kicks.

2) 'Ertugrul' craze!

Of course, the list would not have been complete without this one, would it? Taking a dig at PTV, Saba calls it 'Pity TV' in her show, saying, "Airing on Pity TV, this drama is touching new heights of success." She doesn't stop just there - she goes on to pull private TV channels' legs as well!

"It's success has shocked many channels and actors to see that a channel where you would only see tractors now has the highest ratings. According to reports, owners of private channels have suffered mini attacks at this news," she said.

1) Colonel ki biwi

"This week's top rated drama was Colonel ki Biwi drama that smashed even Ertugrul's rating. However, upon finding out at the end that the woman wasn't a colonel's wife at all, many viewers smashed their TV sets, proving that there is no dearth of entertainment in our country!" narrated Saba.

That wasn't all though, her news bulletin featured more news, including PM Imran Khan's infamous "Ghabrana nahi hai (We must not panic)" and the public's expectations of him, the lack of security measures against coronavirus and the debate over sighting of the Eid moon.
