Since the last two decades, he was struggling along with senior film personalities for the revival of cinema in the country and at a time when many chose to leave industry due to the crisis, he continuously tried to unite local film producers at Lahore.

“There are only a few cameramen that came in the industry and earned fame due to their work and among them are names like Azhar Barki, Nabi Ahmad, Waqar Bukhari and of course, Ali Jaan. Jaan was at the top due to this work, and was among the pioneering cameramen in the industry since the beginning and the end of his career,” said film actor Ashi Khan.

Senior film director Altaf Hussain added, “During his career he worked with all the top directors and film artists. He started work when there was nothing and due to his work this industry once saw its golden time and he also saw its crisis. His contribution and services will be remembered forever and his death has created a gap that cannot filled.”
