ISLAMABAD: With the number of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases rising exponentially to 4,979 in the federal capital with 49 associated deaths, the apex civic authority of the city has decided to restrict entry to its secretariat for all such people who fail to wear a face mask.

The latest restrictions will apply to employees of the authority as well as visitors.

In this regard, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) put up streamers and banners at all the entry gates of the authority’s offices.

The CDA administration has further directed its security directorate to ensure that no one is allowed inside the building without wearing a mask.

The CDA administration has further directed to make sure that all possible preventive measures against Covid-19 are observed by employees while working at the CDA headquarters.

Accordingly, the CDA’s administration directorate has issued a circular regarding preventive measures to avoid the spread of Covid-19. In it, all employees of the authority have been directed to strictly follow anti-Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the district government.

Through the same circular, all employees have been further directed to make sure they use gloves, hand sanitizers and masks during office hours.

CDA employees have been further warned that strict disciplinary action will be initiated against them if they do not follow the SOPs.

To facilitate employees and visitors, the CDA administration said that hand sanitizers are also being placed around the headquarters for ease of use for staff and visitors.
