1,782 new Covid infections surface in Punjab
As many as 8,109 coronavirus patients had recovered so far
LAHORE: The number of coronavirus patients has reached 37,090 in Punjab after the registration of 1,782 new cases during the last 24 hours.
Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department spokesperson said on Sunday that 24 more patients lost their lives to Covid-19 and now the death toll has hit 683 in the province. As many as 8,109 coronavirus patients had recovered so far.
The health department confirmed that 691 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Lahore, 291 in Faisalabad, 143 in Rawalpindi, 133 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 111 in Multan, 84 in Gujrat, 58 in Gujranwala, 41 in Muzaffargarh, 37 in Bahawalpur, 31 in Sialkot, 19 in Kasur and 13 in Sheikhupura within the next 24 hours among others.
Punjab Health Department has so far conducted 282,807 coronavirus tests in the province. The provincial health department appealed to the citizens to adopt standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their protection and cover their faces with masks. They had also advised the people to wash their hands with soap several times in a day. “Contact helpline 1033 immediately if you have symptoms of coronavirus,” the healthcare department officials advised the citizens.
