Veteran actor Faysal Qureshi in a recent video has clarified his earlier comments relating to Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Covid-19 that had earned him the ire of fans of the show. In a tweet that has since been deleted Qureshi had talked about how a lot of people in Pakistan consider Ertuğrul reality yet a grave disease like coronavirus a "drama".

In the video, Qureshi pointed out that he didn't critcised the show neither its fans but actually people who were deeming the virus as fake. "I am sad and shocked that my own people bashed me so much over a mere tweet. No one bothered to even read it fully. Didn't saw the part about people considering Covid-19 a drama and just started attacking me over Ertuğrul," he said.

Adding on Qureshi stressed on how grave the Covid-1 pandemic is and shouldn't be taken lightly.

"Covid-19 is a serious matter. People who haven't witnessed it closely are not grasping the severity of the situation.  A lot of people I know personally who are going through this they can understand it. There are many people who have lost loved ones to the virus. My comments were directed at those that were questioning the disease. It's senseless," he said.

He highlighted that at the same time there are people who couldn't differentiate between the actors in Ertugrul and the characters they played. " Equally senseless was when people started equating actors in Ertugrul with the characters they portrayed in the show by lecturing them on their Instagram accounts," he said.

" When we saw Ertugrul in Turkish with subtitles we understood it. You are watching it in Urdu. Still, you don't understand it's real meaning? Before saying anything please understand what is being said," he concluded.
