This was directed on Tuesday by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) single-member bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice Ather Minallah, as it heard a petition filed by evictees of various sectors in Islamabad.
During Tuesday’s hearing, the court sought details about the compensation paid to evictees by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the authority’s policy on compensating affectees.

CJ Minallah further inquired from CDA’s lawyer how many affectees have yet to be paid.
He further asked how many plots have been allotted in the federal capital so far and how many have yet to be allotted to different people.
CDA’s counsel responded by saying he did not have information about the entire city but information can be obtained from the relevant department of the authority.
CJ Minallah remarked that the CDA chairman should be summoned if the lawyer was not unaware of it, and directed the CDA to submit policies on the matter ever since the authority was formed.

Rebuking CDA’s representative, the chief justice said that the authority has been hijacked by influential people.
“You don’t work for the welfare of the people,” CJ Minallah remarked, asking why shouldn’t a widow be allotted a plot in Sector D-12 instead Sector E-12.
