QUETTA: Another doctor succumbed to the coronavirus in Balochistan on Saturday, taking the tally of deceased doctors to three across the province.

Dr Shah Wali, a former child specialist at Mastung District Headquarters Hospital, was diagnosed with coronavirus a few days ago and he was under treatment at the isolation ward of Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital, according to Balochistan Health department.

Expressing grief over the demise of Dr Wali, Balochistan Health Director General Dr Saleem Abro lauded the outstanding services of the deceased in the field of medicine.

“Doctors and paramedics of Balochistan were fighting the virus on the frontline with courage and bravery,” said Abro, adding the martyr rendered sacrifices for the protection of people.

The Health DG noted the deceased doctors would be remembered in history for their services.

Two officials of BMC, Dr Zubair Khan, incharge of Trauma Centre, and Dr Naeem Agha, senior incharge of BMC, had died of coronavirus in the line of duty while rendering services to coronavirus patients. Besides, two brothers and dispensers of Civil Hospital Quetta, Dilawar Khan and Munawar Khan, and four paramedics had also died of the virus.
