Another doctor succumbs to Covid-19 in K-P

He passed away before the results of his second test came out

Another doctor passed away due to the coronavirus in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Sunday, a few days after being admitted in the hospital.

The deceased was a pathologist at the Police Services Hospital in Peshawar and was undergoing treatment at the Hayatabad Medical Complex for three days.

Dr Aurangzeb was in the intensive care unit (ICU) for the last three days, according to hospital sources.

His first test had come out negative. However, he passed away before the results of the second test came out.

K-P health authorities said this is the fourth death of a doctor in the province.

In April, a doctor and professor at Hayatabad Medical Complex in K-P had lost the battle against the novel coronavirus.

Dr Muhammad Javed was the first doctor in the province to succumb to the virus.

The late doctor was diagnosed with the virus a week earlier and was undergoing treatment at Hayatabad Medical Complex. He was placed on a ventilator in a critical condition.
