Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi tests positive for coronavirus
Minister says he has self-isolated at home as per instructions of medical staff
Minister of State for Safron and Narcotics Control Shehryar Afridi on Saturday tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The minister took to microblogging website Twitter and said he has isolated himself at home as per orders of the medical staff.
He also asked for prayers and blessings.

Earlier today, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Rana Arif Iqbal tested positive for Covid-19 and has self-quarantined at home.
His wife and four children also contracted the virus.
Earlier this month, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser tested positive for the novel coronavirus and went into self-isolation.
“I tested positive for coronavirus and quarantined myself in my house. I urge the entire nation to take preventive measures,” he wrote on Twitter.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail also tested positive for Covid-19 but vowed to fight the highly contagious disease.
“I believe this is nothing against what we [are] prepared for,” the governor wrote on his official Twitter handle.
A Tharparkar-based MPA of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Rana Hameer Singh also contracted the virus.
The lawmaker reportedly met and spent time with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) MPA Abdul Rasheed, who also contracted the virus, during the latter’s visit to inaugurate an intensive care unit at an Al-Khidmat Foundation health facility in Tharparkar.
