Victim subjected to torture for not bringing money from her parents

FAISALABAD: A woman was tortured by her in-laws in Landianwala with iron rods for not asking money from her parents. They tortured her with hot knives and tried strangle her.

The victim reached the police station for justice. Noreen Shehzadi, a resident of the Ada Bachiana area near Landianwala, got married to Aqib Ali but later domestic disputes erupted due to which Shehzadi came to her parents’ house.

In the wee hours of Friday, Shehzadi’s husband Ali, along with his brothers and mother, allegedly tortured her with iron rods and an attempt was made to strangle her with a rope around her neck.

The victim said that her in-laws have already taken more than Rs400,000 from her father to save her marriage.

Now her husband Ali again demanded Rs500,000. She was kicked out of the house when she refused to give that money because her brothers can no longer afford to pay and her father has also died, as per reports.

The victim further said that her in-laws kept torturing her body a hot knife. She was living in her parents’ house where her in-laws attacked her.

In this regard, SHO Landianwala Manazir Luck said that after the medical clearance of the woman, a case will be registered against the accused and raids will be carried out for their arrest.
