BMC incharge dies of virus

QUETTA: Bolan Medical Complex Quetta Trauma Centre In-charge Zubair Ahmed Khan died of the coronavirus late on Thursday while working on frontline against the deadly pandemic in Balochistan.

Khan was the second doctor to have succumbed to the virus after being infected with it as earlier Dr Naeem Agha had died of the virus, according to Young Doctors Association spokesperson.

Khan was under treatment at Fatima Jinnah Hospital after testing positive for the virus a few days ago, according to a hospital spokesperson. Later, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where he died.

Khan had served at various positions at Bolan Medical Complex and Civil Hospital Quetta.

Earlier, Balochistan YDA protested against the shortage of protective equipment for  medical staff as up till now more than 250 medical personnel, including 164 doctors  have tested positive for the virus.
