229 test positive for coronavirus disease

The patients include 14 policemen, as well as lawyers and doctors

SARGODHA: Of the 425 suspected coronavirus patients in the district, at least 229 have tested positive for the disease. In the past seven days, nine patients have died in the district.

The patients include 14 policemen, as well as lawyers and doctors. This was disclosed in a review meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh.

The meeting was attended by District Health Authority CEO Dr Rai Samiullah, ADCG Bilal Feroze Joya, DHO Dr Sohail Asghar Qazi and other officers concerned. The meeting was informed that 137 coronavirus patients had been placed in quarantine in their homes.

There are 18 patients in the Government TB Hospital, seven in Sahiwal THQ Hospital and six in Kot Momin THQ Hospital, while 36 patients have recovered so far. The deputy commissioner ordered daily monitoring of the patients in quarantine at their homes strict implementation of the SOPs.
