Dr Mirza promises ample supply of PPE

SAPM on health paid tribute to health workers

ISLAMABAD: The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza on Wednesday promised doctors at the largest tertiary care hospital in the federal capital that he government is doing all it can to ensure an uninterrupted supply of personal protective equipment at the hospital.

While visiting the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), Dr Mirza reviewed the measures adopted at the hospital to deal with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

To help fight the virus, Dr Mirza said that they will be installing a new PCR machine at the facility to boost its capacity to test for Covid-19.

Claiming that the best possible medical care is being provided to patients, Dr Mirza announced that they are upgrading the beds at the health care facility.

The SAPM on health also paid tribute to health workers who are working hard, day and night, to fight this disease.

Claiming that the government considers the safety of medical personnel as their top priority, Dr Mirza said that they were doing all they can to ensure an uninterrupted supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) in hospitals.

Earlier, the Pims executive director briefed Dr Mirza about the challenges they were facing and the initiatives taken.
