Cop who died in plane crash laid to rest in Rawalpindi

Fayyaz’s family said all of the victims were travelling to Karachi to visit an ill relative

RAWALPINDI: A Rawalpindi police constable and two others, who had died in the PK-8303 plane crash in Karachi, were laid to rest in their native areas in the garrison city on Tuesday.

Asif Fayyaz, who was serving as a head constable in the Rawalpindi police, along with his two friends including Syed Danish and Malik Zeeshan, were amongst those who had perished when PK-8303 crashed in the Model Town locality of Karachi on Friday afternoon.

Fayyaz’s family said all of the victims were travelling to Karachi to visit an ill relative.

Later, Rawalpindi Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younus also visited the policeman’s family to express his condolences. He assured the family of the department’s support in this difficult time. He also provided support for the victim’s family to complete the funeral arrangements.

Separately, a police spokesperson said that apart from the victim, three of his brothers are also serving in the provincial police department. Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members Amir Kiyani and Khurram Nawaz also visited the aggrieved family.
