Prisoners allowed to receive gifts

Prisoners will be allowed to don Eid dresses in the morning and offer Eid prayers as per SOPs

RAWALPINDI: As an empathetic mover, the Adiyala Jail administration has allowed the families of internees to send them delicacies, gifts and Eid dresses.

Moreover, the prisoners have also been allowed to call their families from the jail’s landline telephone exchange from Sunday to Wednesday to greet their families on the festive occasion of Eidul Fitr. The jail officials said that the measure has been taken as the internees have remained deprived of seeing their families physically due to the precautionary measures against the coronavirus.

Adyala Jail Superintendent has directed officials to deliver all parcels to the recipients, both . He added that the families can send clothes, eid delicacies, sweets etc.

Consequently, the inmates have express joy on the move and they are eagerly waiting for relaxation in the judicial matters to briefly meet their family members during court proceedings.

Prisoners will be allowed to don Eid dresses in the morning and offer Eid prayers as per SOPs. They would be served the traditional Eid breakfast which essentially has a halva as sweet dish.
