ISLAMABAD: Federal capital police have issued a comprehensive plan to ensure stringent security on Chand Raat and on Eid day and ensure implementation of social distancing in shopping malls, Eidgahs and public parks of the federal capital.

“No compromise will be made on protecting the lives and property of citizens as well as protecting them from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) by making them follow the SOPs,” said Operations-DIG Waqaruddin Syed while sharing details of the security plan with The Express Tribune.

Apart from providing security, police in the federal capital will patrol the streets including outside mosques, shopping malls and public parks to protect the public from Covid-19 and to ensure their security, he said.

Around 350 police officers and personnel will be deployed across the city on Chand Raat to ensure security at all small and large markets, mosques and other public places and major highways and to enforce social distancing measures and other SOPs. Officers will be deployed in the markets from 2pm on the last day of Ramazan to ensure that shopping malls close at the given time and check all the markets for a further two hours to make sure that no shop is open beyond the deadline.
