Balochistan report 83 new virus cases

Total provincial tally stands at 2,968

QUETTA: Balochistan on Wednesday reported 83 new coronavirus cases, raising the total number of cases in the entire province to 2,968.

It is pertinent to note that the province has witnessed 38 official deaths due to the deadly virus up till now.

According to daily situation report of the Balochistan Health Directorate, 94% of the total cases in Balochistan are locally transmitted. The active number of cases in the province stand at 2,294.

31 deaths have been recorded from Quetta, 4 from Pishin, 2 from Lasbela and 1 from Sibi.

Out of the aforementioned 2,968 cases, 2,812 locally transmitted cases in Balochistan, include 2,409 from Quetta, 106 from Pishin, 110 from Killa Abdullah, 33 from Killa Saifullah, 31 from Jaffarabad, 18 from Chagai, 27 from Mastung, 13 from Sibi, 14 from Lasbela, 8 from Ziarat, 9 from Loralai, 4 from Panjgur, 4 from Kharan, 4 from Nushki, 3 from Khuzdar, 2 from Harnai, 2 from Musakhel, 1 from Kachi, 1 from Washuk and 1 from Kohlu..

Presently, 636 positive patients have recovered in Balochistan so far, after getting infected by the virus whereas 28 more patients have recovered after testing negative twice.

As per the latest figures, out of 19,394 suspected patients, tests of 19,346 people have been conducted, out of which 2,968 suspects have tested positive for Covid-19. However, 16,318 have tested negative.

The provincial health directorate spokesperson relayed that the health department still awaits results of 395 cases.

In Balochistan, over 1,500 people are still placed in different quarantine centers of the province which include 233 in Taftan, 483 in Pishin, 408 in Killa Abdullah, 259 in Zhob, 60 in Lasbela, 15 in Jaffarabad, 26 in Ziarat, 14 in Barkhan and 4 in Khuzdar.
