Three civilians injured in Indian aggression along LoC

Indian troops opened fire with automatic weapons and mortars

At least three civilians received critical injuries on Wednesday when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC), said a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Indian troops, in yet another belligerent act, targetted the civilian population of Nikial sector with mortars and automatic weapons.

The injuries were reported from Ooli and Khanni villages. The injured were evacuated and are being provided with medical care, added the military's media wing.

On Tuesday, another civilian was injured by Indian firing in the Jijot village area of LoC.

A senior Indian diplomat was also summoned on Tuesday to the Foreign Office to lodge a strong protest over the ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces in Khuiratta Sector along the LoC on Sunday.

In 2020, India has so far committed 1081 ceasefire violations.

Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian troops, the FO spokesperson underscored that such senseless acts are in clear violation of the 2003 ceasefire understanding, and are also against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct.

“These egregious violations of international law reflect consistent Indian attempts to escalate the situation along the LoC and are a threat to regional peace and security,” she added.

Farooqui said the Indian troops display complete disregard for human rights by repeated shelling and firing resulting in a large number of civilian martyrdoms and injuries.
