Cop suspended for 'bribery' in Karachi
Disciplinary action has also been ordered against the suspended cop
KARACHI:
A traffic police official was suspended by the East SSP on Sunday after a video of him demanding a bribe from a citizen near Safoora Goth went viral. The video, made by the driver from whom ASI Liaquat had demanded the bribe, shows the policeman chasing the citizen and then fleeing when he realised he was being filmed.
The East SSP directed officials to launch an inquiry into the incident immediately and suspended Liaquat. Disciplinary action has also been ordered against the suspended cop, who was deputed at the Samama traffic police post.
