Coronavirus claims 13 more lives in Sindh

Provincial death toll has reached 268, says CM Murad

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said on Saturday that 13 more people have succumbed to the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

He added that 674 people out of 4,467 have been tested positive in Sindh.

The provincial death toll has reached 268 which constitutes 1.7 per cent of total patients, the chief minister said, whereas the total number of Covid-19 positives in SIndh has reached 15,590.

A total of 117,860 tests have been carried out as of yet., added Murad.

“Around 11,518 patients are under treatment with 10,134 patients in home isolation, 832 at isolation centres and 552 in hospitals.”

"At least 198 patients have recovered and discharged. The number of patients who have defeated coronavirus comes to 3,804 which shows 25 per cent recovery,” he said, adding that Sindh’s recovery ratio is 25 per cent.

“Karachi was still on high alert with 490 cases,” the chief minister said. “District East has 123 cases, South 113, Central 66, Korangi 59, Malir 72 and West 57.”

“Hyderabad has 55 new cases of coronavirus, Sukkur 11, Kambar-Shahdadkot six, Sanghar four, three each in Tando Mohammad Khan and Jacobabad, and two each in Matiari, Sujawal and Ghotki,” CM Murad confirmed.

The chief minister once again urged the people of the province to take precautionary measures such as wearing masks and observing social distancing.
