It's been a while since Diliris: Ertuğrul fever has taken over Pakistanis. The show, which has been broadcasting on the state-run channel and Netflix, has garnered rave reviews for its brilliant story-line and rich take on Islamic history.

Crediting to its popularity, rumours of a Pakistani adaptation of the popular Turkish show were abuzz. Many compared Hamza Ali Abbasi to play the role of the protagonist in the Pakistani version of Diliris: Ertuğrul. Others shared how Naimal Khawar will be a perfect fit to essay Hamza's onscreen wife, the role of Halime Sultan.

Now, cricketer, Mohammad Amir has shared his two cents on how one of the actors in the show bears an uncanny resemblance to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli.

Taking to Twitter, Amir jokingly wrote, "Virat Kohli, brother is it you? I am confused."

The show's actor Cavit Çetin Güner has an uncanny resemblance to Kohli, believed Amir. Güner plays Dogan Bey in the show.

However, seems like the hoo-ha surrounding popular Turkish show isn’t dying anytime soon.

Many actors have shared their contradicting thoughts on the show including Reema Khan, Shaan Shahid, Asad Siddiqui, Osman Khalid Butt and others. The recent stars to share their views and praise the historic show were Osman Khalid Butt and Adnan Malik.
