ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to decide on an application filed by a private medical college for registration with the council by May 20.

IHC’s Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard a petition filed by a private medical college on Thursday. During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel pleaded that the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) had approved the registration of his client but the commission had been dissolved in the light of a court judgment.

He said that the decisions of PMC were also voided after its dissolution. He said that after being registered by the PMC, the college had started admission for students.

The court ordered the PMDC to decide on the application of the medical college by May 20 and adjourned the hearing.
