Target killings suspect arrested in Karachi

Sindh Police on Friday arrested a man allegedly involved in the recent incidents of target killings in Karachi

KARACHI: The Central Investigation Department of the Sindh Police arrested a man allegedly involved in the recent incidents of target killings in Karachi on Friday.

According to CID, Akhtar was arrested with a Kalashnikov after a shootout with Police in the Saeedabad area.

An arms smuggler, Raees Khan, has also been arrested by the Special Investigation Branch. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from his possession.

Meanwhile Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad met with Ulema, police and Rangers officials to discuss the situation in Karachi,

Ulema from different sects met the governor to decide on a course of action to be taken in light of the recent target killings, according to the PRO Governor House.

Governor Sindh said that up till now anti-terrorist Act has only been in the pipeline and now was a good time for the Act to come into play. The Ulema and the Government reached an agreement on meeting every month to discuss the situation of Karachi.
