KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has joined hands with football’s governing body FIFA to pay homage to the dedicated and hard-working healthcare workers and other professionals around the world who are working tirelessly to ensure society continues to function in the face of the ferocious Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of FIFA’s Humanity’s Heroes campaign, Pakistan national team players, along with global football stars, have come forward to applaud these brave individuals.

In a video released by the PFF in collaboration with FIFA on Tuesday, Pakistan men’s national team captain Saddam Hussain, forward Saadullah Khan, women’s national team skipper Hajra Khan and midfielder Sahar Zaman featured with the likes of football legends David Beckham, Diego Maradona, Ronaldo and Kaka to extend their gratitude towards humanity’s heroes.

“Across the globe, staff and volunteers at medical facilities have been risking their lives on a daily basis to support humankind. Some have sadly paid the ultimate price. People working or volunteering in law enforcement, pharmacies, shops, warehouses, delivery services, public transport have been a bulwark to all of humanity,” said FIFA in a press release.

“To all of these heroic people: football thanks you, football remembers you and football supports you.”
