This country makes me want to cry: Shaniera Akram
The social activist has cirticised people for not maintaining social distance post lockdown
Social activist Shaniera Akram has expressed disappointment on how the public in Pakistan has stopped adhering to social distancing since the lockdown was lifted on Monday. "Seeing footage of traffic blocked roads, congested streets and market places and hundreds of people without even a mask on. This country makes me want to cry," she tweeted.

Welcome to Pakistan... How can any country defeat this country while people are watching in eyes of death?

The whole world is easing their lockdown. The problem is not the govt in Pak its the people! They are irresponsible, inconsiderate and have no sense of civic duties. If you don't believe me, come to the Pakistani grocery stories in the developed countries and see it for yourself!

Our public also wanted this freedom just for Eid shopping. Rather than create chaos and worsen the situation, Govt. has indirectly passed a msg that safety should be each individual's own concern. When people dont care for themselves, how much can b imposed?

Actor Ushna Shah also urged people to still maintain maximum social distancing in their capacity. "Yeah we are open now (collective sigh of relief) but can we still please exercise some social distancing, Chipkian mat (don't stick). Lockdown end. Stay safe!"she said.
