ISLAMABAD: Around 18 members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) cabinet are expected to take oath within the next 24-48 hours, Express 24/7 reported Monday.

Estranged Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member of the AJK Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akber is expected to be given the ministries of finance and planning and development.

The members include one woman and two advisors.

Earlier in the morning today, a high-level meeting was held at Zardari House in Islamabad in which formation of the AJK cabinet was discussed.

On the other hand, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) verdict of becoming a part of the AJK cabinet is still undecided.

MQM’s Legislative Assembly member Saleem Butt said that the matter is ‘still under consideration’.

Earlier, PPP’s Sardar Yaqoob took oath as AJK’s President on July 29 by clinching majority votes in the assembly.
