“A transparent inquiry is needed to fix responsibility for corruption of billions of rupees,” said Aurangzeb.
While coronavirus pandemic has gripped the country firmly, the PML-N leader blamed Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is also federal minister for health, for deteriorating public health sector because of massive failure to run the affairs of the governance.
“During two years of his rule, Imran Niazi has completely ruined the health sector like other institutions of the country,” said the PML-N leader.
Aurangzeb claimed the management of hospitals in Islamabad was in severe condition where doctors, nurses and paramedics were performing duties amid coronavirus pandemic without mandatory protective gear. “Islamabad’s largest hospital is functioning on an ad-hoc basis with makeshift arrangements,” she claimed.
Country importing 150 medicines from India
Referring to the Supreme Court order to restore Pakistan Medical and Dental Council which the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government had replaced with Pakistan Medical Commission, the PML-N information secretary said the prime minister has not yet acted upon the court order to revive PMDC which was a contempt of court.
The PML-N leader noted the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM) and Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) were functioning without a permanent head. Besides the position of director general health was also vacant.
Talking about the health projects of the previous government, she said, “PTI government has demolished 20 health projects initiated during the rule of PML-N only because of biased and prejudiced attitude of the prime minister. However, Imran Khan claims credit of initiating Insaf Health Card which was a scheme of Sehat Card initiated by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.”
