10,003 vehicles impounded amid Punjab’s Covid-19 lockdown

Warnings against 240,409 vehicles for violating the warning deadlock

LAHORE: Traffic police released statistics on action against outlaws during the partial lockdown in view of the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Hammad Abid stated that 10,003 vehicles were impounded in the city’s police stations and 7,538 vehicles were released. As many as 29,676 vehicles were issued challan tickets for carrying more than two persons in one car.

He added that the traffic police, while educating more than 400,000 citizens who went out unnecessarily during the lockdown, issued warnings against 240,409 vehicles for violating the warning deadlock.

Action was taken against 1.098 million motorcycles for violating pillion riding.
