Athar Shah Khan 'Jedi' passes away

Writer, poet and actor was 77 years old

KARACHI: In a recent turn of unfortunate events, renowned actor, writer and poet Athar Shah Khan passed in Karachi on Sunday (today), May 10, 2o20.

He had been unwell for a while now and his death occurred after suffering from a a severe stroke, reported Express News. He is survived by his wife and four sons.

Known popularly for his role as Jedi, Khan entertained the small screen audience for decades, as an actor, poet, writer and comedian. He played the famous character of Jedi on PTV and NTM which rose him to among both youngers and elders.


He began his career at Radio Pakistan as a writer following which he wrote 700 plays over the course of 20 years.

His iconic portrayal of Jedi with hit serial Jedi Ke Sang, is marked as a turning point in his career. It was during this time that he began to be known as Jedi.

Khan provided many other famous dramas through out the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s including Intezar Farmaiay, Lakhon mein teen, Ba adab ba mulahiza hoshiyar, haye jaidi among others.
