Flooded streets: Quaidabad residents protest

KHUSHAB: Locals protested after five to six feet of water flooded the streets in tehsil Quaidabad’s lowland areas on Sunday. The protesters blocked traffic after the streets flooded from rainfall during last three days. Locals said that a large quantity of water had started gathering near the northern areas of Mianwali-Sargodha Road. Due to blocking of culverts, water began to accumulate and the road and nullah near Ganjial Rajbah following which it began to flood the village. Villagers have protested and blocked the road. The administration assured the residents that the drains would be made operational as soon as possible and the protesters dispersed. However, Ganjial and Utra residents have protested against the administration for deciding to redirect the culverts, saying this will flood their villages in turn.
