In a statement issued on Friday, the information secretary said that Labour Day reminded the dignity of the people doing blue-collar jobs who shed their sweat and blood for nation-building.’
“The day reminds us of the struggle of Chicago’s labourers, who had sacrificed their lives and made struggle for their rights.”
He added that the Ehsaas Kafalat Programme and other schemes were aimed at protecting working classes members of our of society.
“Labourers were confronting difficulties following the coronavirus situation. There is a need to come together to help the needy in such a grave situation.”
